Traffic Management Plan - Timberly Road
Access to GVI Logistics Ltd (Units C & D) is located at 23 Timberly Road, Auckland Airport, Manukau.
Entry to GVI Logistics Ltd (AKT) is via a shared driveway with 2 other tenants located at units A & B.
This shared driveway has a speed limit of 5km/Hour as per the signage on site.
This shared driveway operates in both directions for both Entry and Exit.
Entry and Exit to GVI’s Timberly Road sites is via the main black gate located Road-side at 23 Timberly Road. If the main black gate is closed, there is a keypad on the right-hand side on the gate post. Please contact one of the GVI Logistics staff members below for the access code. Gate will open automatically when access code is entered. When exiting the site, the gate will open automatically via a sensor as you drive slowly towards the gate.

Office Carpark – Unit C
- Entry to the GVI – Unit C Office carpark is located on the right-hand side of the building just past Unit B (Reece Plumbing) office entrance.
- GVI – Unit C office carparks are marked with white “GVI” paint on them.
- This carpark has a speed limit of 5km/hour as per signage on the site.
Office Carpark – Unit D
- Entry to the GVI – Unit D Office carpark is located at the end of the cul-de-sac, past the Unit D office entrance.
- This carpark has a speed limit of 5km/hour as per signage on the site.
- NO trucks or light commercial vehicles are permitted to enter the GVI – Unit D carpark area under any circumstances.
Site Rules – Unit C
- Vehicles delivering or collecting cargo are to use the designated Loading Area’s A &B located in the GVI – Unit C yard area, in front of Doorway’s 1 & 2.
- The speed limit is 5km/hour as per signage on the site.
- No person is permitted access into the Unit C warehouse area unless authorised and accompanied by a GVI staff member.
- When the vehicle is stopped, all drivers must carefully and safely exit their vehicle, sign in by scanning the QR code located on the pedestrian door inside the “Driver Safety Zone”, make themselves known to a GVI Logistics store person and present there paperwork.
- Driver’s should then either return to their vehicle or stand in the Driver Safety Zone by the pedestrian door in the yard until the loading/un-loading process has been completed.
- All Contractors, Drivers and Service providers entering the site must sign-in using either the QR code located at on the pedestrian doors or tablet inside the office entrance at Unit D or tablets located in the main office or the desk just inside the warehouse entrance at Unit C.
- All Contractors and Drivers must have completed the GVI Logistics online induction system via the below link: http://www.gvi.co.nz/induction
- All Contractors, Drivers and Service providers must be wearing High-visibility (Hi-vis) clothing and protective footwear at all times. Vests must be zipped-up whilst on site.
- All drivers must follow all traffic and safety instructions given by GVI staff members.
- All drivers must take extreme care at all times and be aware of moving forklifts, vehicles and machinery.
- There is to be NO reversing or overtaking while moving through the GVI yard unless permission is given by a GVI staff member.
- If reversing is required a GVI staff member MUST be present to act as a spotter to assist you in reversing your vehicle.
- All drivers must carefully check for pedestrian and forklift traffic present in GVI’s yard before proceeding to the exit.
- The only exception to the Entry and Exit rules are Swing-Lift trucks dropping off or picking up containers. A GVI staff member must be present to direct you to the container pad.
Sea Containers – Unit C
- Prior to dropping off or collecting sea containers, drivers must report to the office and follow all instructions given by a GVI Logistics staff member.
- All sea containers are to be positioned in the Yellow-marked “CONTAINERS” area in the GVI Logistics yard, numbered #1 - #5.
- All sea containers must have container doors facing the GVI Logistics office windows and Blue-painted GVI Logistics 40’ container.
- An additional space is available next to the Blue-painted GVI Logistics marked 40’ container. Container doors must be facing the GVI Logistics Warehouse.
- Approval to drop a container in this position must be obtained from a GVI Logistics staff member as per the contact details above.
- All Reefer containers that are delivered on the weekends or after-hours must be plugged-in and checked that they are running properly at the correct temperature setting, prior to the driver leaving the GVI site.
- Only approved transport operators are permitted to unload, or load sea containers at GVI Logistics site.
- Only approved transport operators are permitted to be located within a 5-metre radius of the truck and operating area when a container is being lifted on or off the truck.
- GVI Staff are not permitted to assist or be involved in any physical operation of container movements.
Site Rules – Unit D
- Vehicles delivering or collecting cargo are to follow and use the white directional arrows located in the GVI – Unit D yard area and park in the marked “Loading area”.
- The speed limit is 5km/hour as per signage on the site.
- No person is permitted access into the Unit D warehouse area unless authorised and accompanied by a GVI staff member.
- When the vehicle is stopped, all drivers must carefully and safely move to the Driver Safety Zone with there paperwork and make themselves known to a GVI Logistics store person.
- All Contractors, Drivers and Service providers entering the site must sign-in using the tablets located in either, the main office or affixed to the outside wall by the marked Driver Safety Zone area.
